Webster Hall. Bring your bachelor party to a place that’s been hopping since Teddy Roosevelt got his groove on back in the day. Your party guests might be looking for a more Clintonesque presidential experience, and they just might find it at this former speakeasy. The site of Al Capone’s original gangsta experience, Webster Hall hosts risqué events like the American Go-Go Girl Championships. It’s a massive place, with something for everyone, especially if everyone in your group likes glow sticks. Webster Hall, 125 East 11th Street, New York, NY 10003. 212-353-1600.
Peter Luger Steak House. Its German beer hall interior isn’t going to win any design awards. It’s brighter inside than a SoHo art gallery. And it’s in Brooklyn. Still, celebrity chefs in all five boroughs shake their fists in anger at the mighty Peter Luger Steak House. It has won the Zagat award for best steak in New York City for seventeen years running. It was in Williamsburg long before the hipsters, and will probably last until the earth explodes, simply because nobody would ever let this place close. You’ll need a tag team to conquer the Porterhouse, or a wheelbarrow to cart out their cheeseburger. You’d better get your bachelor party to Brooklyn, because there’s a perfectly cooked steak with your name on it. Peter Luger Steak House, 178 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY11211. 718-387-7400.
Sail Around the Island. It’s easy to forget that Manhattan’s just a little bitty piece of land with a whole lot of people on it. If you’re planning a truly unforgettable bachelor party, take it to the water on a private sailboat. Cruise during the day to pretend you’re the cast of the next Apprentice, or sail at night for fun under the stars and the city skyline. Shearwater Sailing, 212-619-0885.
